BETWEEN THE VINES Jan 2008 Edition No 48
HARVEST REPORT FOR 2007 Most vineyards in England have had a VERY GOOD harvest at similar to the bumper crop of 2005. The very early warm spring started the vines growing far to soon. May's hot days and warm nights did the vines a lot of good and the flowers developed really well. The quality of the grapes was good, with some extra high sugar readings. Unlike the rest of the country, the harvest at New Hall was very good and has produced between 260 and 270 bottles per row, (One of the benefits of having a good site). The 2007 wines should easily turn out to be of exceptional quality and improve for many years in the bottle.
